Dr. Basile Njei, MD, MPH, PhD, FRCP
Dr. Basile Njei, MD, MPH, PhD, FRCP is an internationally recognized physician-scientist and global health leader whose work bridges clinical medicine, public health, data science, and innovation. Born in Cameroon, he trained in medicine at the University of Yaoundé and earned a Master of Public Health from the University of Edinburgh and a PhD in Investigative Medicine/Data Science from Yale University, where he is an Assistant Professor Adjunct and Co-Director of the International Medicine Program in Digestive Diseases.
His research applies artificial intelligence and genomic analytics to improve diagnosis and outcomes for liver diseases and metabolic disorders, influencing health policy and clinical practice globally. Dr. Njei has published extensively in high-impact journals and holds leadership roles spanning Yale School of Medicine, EUCLID University’s Global Health and Bioethics programs, and global health collaborations that strengthen education, capacity, and equitable care across Africa and beyond.
