Dr Adewale Akinjeji

Dr Adewale Akinjeji is a medical doctor, global health systems specialist, and health policy researcher with over 17 years of experience working across Africa and Asia. His expertise spans health systems strengthening, health financing, HIV and malaria programming, primary healthcare delivery, and the political economy of global health reform. He has held senior technical and leadership roles with multilateral organizations and donor-funded programmes, supporting governments to translate evidence into policy and scale sustainable, high-impact interventions.

Dr Akinjeji’s research interests focus on implementation science, contribution analysis, community-based service delivery, and equity-oriented health system reforms in low- and middle-income countries. He is deeply motivated by advancing research equity. ensuring that locally generated evidence informs global agendas and that communities most affected by health inequities shape the solutions designed for them. His work is driven by a commitment to bridging research, policy, and practice to support more just, resilient, and transformative global health systems.
