Making Equity Real in Research, Funding, and Implementation

Equity must move beyond rhetoric—it must be lived, measured, and embedded at every stage of global health action. Global Health Otherwise is committed to transforming equity from a buzzword into a guiding principle that shapes how research agendas are set, how resources flow, and how programs are implemented. We interrogate what “equity” truly means in context—who defines it, who benefits from it, and who remains excluded. Through reflective dialogue, evidence synthesis, and practice-based learning, we work with researchers, funders, and implementers to co-create frameworks that center fairness, transparency, and accountability. Our goal is to ensure that equity is not a decorative add-on but a structural condition that determines how partnerships are formed, whose voices are heard, and how impact is measured. Making equity real means building systems that are inclusive by design and just in both intent and outcome.
