Daniel Krugman, MSPH
Daniel Krugman, MSPH is a medical and linguistic anthropologist currently completing his Ph.D. at Brown University. Working within the traditions of critical global health studies and the anthropology of development, his current research examines the linguistic and economic politics of the “decolonizing global health movement.”
Based in Nairobi, Kenya, he studies this through conducting an ethnography of the African Population Health and Research Center (APHRC) and other organizations committed to creating African health sovereignty in the wake of aid reduction. Named one of the most exciting up-and-coming scholars of global health, his previous research and thinking have been featured in The Lancet, PLOS Global Public Health, BMJ Global Health, Forbes, Nature Medicine, and more. Daniel also holds positions as a Visiting Scientist at APHRC, Adjunct Professor of Health System Development at Amref International University, and Visiting Faculty at the Summer Institute of Global Health at McGill University.
