Dr Brigitte Wandji

Policy Lead, Women’s Health & Equity

Dr Brigitte Wandji is an OBGYN and public health specialist with over 15 years of experience working across clinical care, health systems strengthening, research, and advocacy in Africa. Her work sits at the intersection of women’s health, equity and policy with a particular focus on reproductive justice, GBV, zero-rating preventable maternal deaths and translating evidence into practice in diverse settings.

She has partnered with professional societies, governments, UN agencies, and civil society organisations on diverse initiatives in maternal health, SRHR, RMNCAH programming, capacity building, and guideline development.

Brigitte is especially interested in challenging dominant global health narratives that marginalise local expertise, lived experience and indigenous knowledge systems, and in reimagining more ethical, inclusive, and locally grounded approaches to research and policy.

She is passionate about mentorship, knowledge democratisation, and supporting emerging leaders committed to doing global health otherwise.
